How to Play OGG Files
(updated March 28, 2011)

SOFTWARE - FOR PLAYING
Popular software/music players such as WinAmp, Windows Media Player and iTunes ("how-to" for iTunes) have plugins for the OGG format.  However many people feel that the above software are seriously bloated, want to shove you their MP3 Music Store service and basically, aren't great at handling/managing audio files. I highly recommend you to take some time to download and try-out the programmes listed below... They are all completely FREE.

VUPlayer - FREE **For Playing OGG and other formats**
A very nice looking player that finds a balance between 'look' and 'function'... It also has good crossfade functions and supports MANY other formats such as APE, AIFF, FLAC, WMA among others. You can also select to use this player as the default device for playing CDs in your PC ROM drives. (see screenshot).

QuickPlayer - FREE **For Playing OGG and other formats**
This is a lightweight player that really cranks up your music experience. For example, it can crossfade, fade-exit OR fade-abort any song playing in OGG, MP3, WAV and other formats... The minimalist approach to the interface is what many music lovers currently prefer (see screenshot).

Foobar Player - FREE **For Playing OGG and other formats**
Although Foobar is dedicated to being an audio player, some people may prefer that it not play standard audio CDs (that you would manually put into your PC's CD ROM drive)... This option can be turned off during (or after) Foobar installation... Read the messages during installation process (see screenshot).

VLC Media Player
- FREE **For Playing OGG and other formats**
You may not want this to play ALL your media files (such as video), so just select AUDIO when installing this software. Read the messages during installation process (see screenshot).

SOFTWARE - FOR CONVERTING -
Free Mp3 Wma Ogg Converter - FREE **For Converting WAV to OGG and other formats**
You may not want to install 'extras' such as the toolbar, so just turn them off when installing the software.
Read the messages during installation process (see screenshot).

INTERNET BROWSER SUPPORT -
You can also play OGG files in the Firefox, Opera and Chrome internet browsers, as they come with native OGG support which looks like this....

DIGITAL AUDIO / VIDEO PLAYERS (DAPs) -
All Cowon iAudio (FANTASTIC QUALITY), iRiver T-Series , Creative Zen, Samsung Yep-Series and most Philips GoGear/Muse DAPs support OGG, as well as hundreds of other brands...

MULTIMEDIA / COMMUNICATION DEVICES -
By the way, most modern cell-phones, such as Google's Android also support OGG!
