RADIO STATIONS....
The MP3 format is great. People often forget just what a marvelous and far reaching revolution it has caused in terms of audio mobility and storage... Full credit to the inventors in Germany and America.  However, people also forget that MP3 is a patented format... Legally, you must pay a fee for every encoding you make.... Considering that MP3 is so widespread, this is really a bit ridiculous.  It's like having a patent on magnetic recording tape, so that only BASF or AGFA can make it!

Therefore, it's REALLY important to support the open standard, patent-free OGG format... By making all your downloads available ONLY in OGG, encourages the few remaining DAP (Digital Audio Player) manufacturers who are holding back, to include the OGG decoder in their players.

Just the same, all Cowon iAudio (Fantastic quality), iRiver T-Series, Creative Zen, Samsung Yep-Series and most Philips Muse/GoGear DAPs support OGG, as well as hundreds of other brands... And now, most modern cell-phones, such as Google's Android also support OGG!

For people who like to listen to documentary in front of their PC, the Firefox, Opera and Chrome internet browsers, come with native OGG support which looks like this....

As for dedicated software, all popular players such as WinAmp, Windows Media Player and iTunes have plugins for the OGG format.  However, make sure you check-out 'the list' of EVEN BETTER SOFTWARE HERE!

With most devices supporting OGG, why use MP3 at all?
